Back House in Los Angeles

This is probably me new favorite Japanese restaurant. They have a wide variety of small plates and skewers, sushi, sashimi, rolls, oyster, etc. I've been here several times and I have always received a great service (all the servers are awesome!).Highly recommended!

Amazing happy hours and great food selection.. their yakitori menu is good.

Happy hour all day MTW, can't beat that and reverse happy hour after 10pm. Good place to drink and eat late night on the Westside.

You need to go on the nights for happy hours. The combos and prices are worth it. The yakitori is super good, order a lot of them because the portions are small.

I visit this great restaurant often! This is my favorite place to grab a bite. I go to this spot at least once a month. The meals are fantastic, the staff is friendly and the price is decent. I enjoy eating in this spot over a good dinner.

The food is really good and the service is always excellent. The only thing I would say is ever since the new management change, the portion sizes have been smaller and the price has gone up - even on happy hour items. If they fixed that, this place would be perfect.

I like the small portions, almost bites, for really reasonable prices but some of the dishes just aren't well executed. For example, the scallop carpaccio was about 1/4 inch thick, it should be so thin you can almost see through it. However, it had a good taste. My dining companion had the wings. Had to send them back because of feathers on almost all the pieces. The plus were crunchy skins but that also meant dried out meat. If you like okra, definately get the bacon wrapped okra, you get 4 whole okra fingers neatly wrapped in bacon strips, on a skewer. The same for wrapped scallops. Tasty. Conscientious service and nice vibe environment, good old school music. Good place to share food and try a few different bites off the menu.

The place serves big dishes and for affordable pricing. very friendly owner. Keep up the good work.

I eat in this lovely place quite a bit! This is the best place to to have a good dinner. I go there frequently. The meals are fantastic, the staff is friendly and the cost is affordable. I enjoy going in this spot for a good lunch.

We've just sat down and received out bento bowls, which are hardly what I'd call a bowl but whatever. The miso soup is tasty and bento bowl is plentiful. I think I may get full but I'm not going to avoid a lotus roll since u here it's all the rage.

WOW!!! This place has just tied for #1 favorite sushi spot in LA. The $1.50 oysters is what really reeled is in, but the sushi chefs, the sashimi, and the service is what's going to keep us coming back! We sat at the bar where we were entertained by the sushi chef. The sushi and the oysters were super fresh and HUGE! Not sure about the parking situation during the day, but if you come after 10 pm on a Monday, you can park at the meters - just read the signs. Happy hour is everyday from 4 10pm - close and HAPPY DAYS are all day Monday - Wednesday. Great prices, great food, great service! What more could you ask for?! Definitely coming back! We came back and to add, they have David and my ALL TIME FAVE DESSERT: CHOCOLATE LAVA CAKE! Every bite was oozing! It was magnificent

One of my family’s favorite sushi spots. Always a classic. However, this is the only Backhouse we’ve ever gone to where the sushi with truffle didn’t actually have some pieces of truffle on top — just the oil. But other than that, another great experience with this chain.

This place is worth the happy hour. Period end of story. The food is great and everyone is quite attentive.What's great: oysters, sushi, chicken karage, chicken meat balls with cheese, etc.

Excellent happy hour menu that’s perfect for sharing (or not), with plenty of high protein options if that’s your jam. Oysters are good quality and fairly priced, and the meat skewers are always perfectly cooked.

Good place for a long meal and good conversation. Not somewhere you'd want to go if you're in a rush, you wouldn't be able to appreciate it properly. Sit at the bar, get a beer, they have a $2 special some days. Order something unique. I ordered the Sea Eal Tempura. It was delicious, perfectly crisp Tempura Eel on the side with a well balanced roll. Just perfect!

Love this place . Best sushi in Alhambra.. the waitress with the glasses let's you smell her toes after your meal... you have to ask for "dry vinegar to go" ;)It's my favorite experience .

Ahhhhhmazing!! What a delicious treat. I came here for Dine LA. Everything was so good. Had the unfiltered sake. Also, so good. I can't believe this was my first time here. Won't be the last.

I celebrated my PhD last night in this fine place. happy to tell that we passed a pleasant evening and the venue was evidently the reason for that strong gathering. The crew cooperated in a pleasant manner, the meals were yummy and my friends were very pleased. We shall no dout return for more joyful events. thanks very much.
